Academic Coaching

Today's students are often over-scheduled and overwhelmed. The demands of rigorous courses, after-school sports, and other extracurricular activities make "keeping up" difficult for many. Students find themselves procrastinating, cramming, and staying up late in order to complete projects, papers, and reports.
Academic Coaching helps students plan and utilize their time effectively and efficiently. Students learn how to learn as they become independent and self-regulated.
Students will meet with a trained tutor for one-on-one sessions that are scheduled 1-2 times per week. Sessions can be scheduled for 1 hour or 1.5 hours depending upon the students' immediate needs.
The following skills are on-going. Tutors will introduce, reinforce and monitor progress in detail on student's daily logs. Skills are integrated through specific homework assignments, projects, and test preparation already assigned in their classes so as to teach students the necessary skills without loading their schedules with extra assignments.
