Meet Ellen
In 2002 I made the decision to leave public school education and open Carolina Academy for Educational Excellence. I believed this would be the very best way to work with students using what I knew were best practices in education. The concept and mission of the Academy came from my intense passion for teaching children, my classroom experiences as a certified elementary school teacher, as well as my adventures as a mother of two.
At this time, my 22 year old daughter is a senior at the University of South Carolina, majoring in broadcast journalism. My 18 year old son is currently a senior in high school and happily looking forward to graduating this June. Because of my individual experiences with each of my children, it would be safe to say that I fully understand the critical educational issues confronting both students and parents in elementary, middle, and high school.
As the owner of Carolina Academy for Educational Excellence, my top priority is to uphold the superior quality of our instruction, as well as maintaining the support students receive from our tutors and staff. For this reason, I continually ask myself the following questions:
"Is this a place I want my own children to attend?"
"Are we doing everything we can to assist students in achieving success?"
"Do students leave every session with a positive, confident attitude?"
I am happy to say the answers continue to be yes, yes, yes!
